Charles Whitby

As a native of Lansing, Michigan and 12 year resident of Las Vegas, NV, Charles L. Whitby has been a staple in the philanthropic community for more than 2 decades. Charles served in youth ministry at his local church for over 24 years and volunteered in multiple ministry outreach activities over that span. He was formerly a board member with the Las Vegas chapter of the 100 Black Men of Nevada, serving during his last term as the Vice President of Development for the organization. He also was an active mentor in the Chess program for the 100. Charles also is a founding board member of the 517 Hope Project, a non-profit based in his hometown which is geared to provide leadership skills to underrepresented youth in the city. Charles has volunteered with organizations such as the Umoja project, Tango Charities, Junior Achievement, Clark County Summer Business Institute and has conducted in class speaking engagements for youth all over the country. Charles’s personal life experiences have made him passionate about the topic of mental health. He himself has utilized therapy to help navigate through certain traumatic experiences and has been a champion for spreading mental health awareness and supporting the Solutions of Change movement.
