Healing to Health Conference
Healing to Health is a community intervention program that brings the dialogue of mental health to the faith-based community. Started in 2017 by our founder, she sought to engage the faith-based community to understand the implications of chronic stress, how to work towards wellness, and access mental health services. We look at how physical, mental, and spiritual health coincide. It started as a short, 4 hour summit with attendance of 30 people in a church and has grown into a 2-day experience with 120 participants.
Conference Overview
On Friday night, we offer a worship and prayer night that is open to all. The goal is to invite the faith-based community to use all of their tools, which are culturally congruent and in alignment with their values. Our board chair, Charles Whitby, says:
“Friday activates you for Saturday as you can engage in communal prayer and worship to set you up to receive the outpouring of knowledge and tools you will receive during the Saturday session. And be in a space to apply those tools for the rest of your life.”
Saturday hosts a variety of workshops/break-out sessions aimed to educate, equip, and empower people to use in their lives always. Participants can choose one from each category: Mental Health, Coping Skills/Intervention, and Faith Talk. Break-out sessions are meant to be personal and interactive for optimal engagement and healing.
By the end of the conference, the participant will have had a holistic experience of knowledge, tools, and reflection, and dialogue that they can apply immediately. We close out our daily with a powerful keynote speaker that embodies the essence of the conference. Saturday requires registration as we offer breakfast and lunch.
